The gravel toned lead vocals and warm overdriven electric guitars - interwoven into a tapestry of bass, drums and driven acoustics... set the scene for a Dark Sacred Night

A song about Mary Anning (1799-1847) who although being uneducated, a woman and from the lowest class became an esteemed palaeontologist, able to hold her own with the scientists and educated of the day. She was never truly accredited or recognised (because of her background and gender) until after her death.

"These Men of Learning have sucked out her brains, and made a great deal of publishing works, of which she furnished the contents, while she derived none of the advantages"

-Anna Maria Pinney on Mary Anning
